The brake pedal... Son of a BITCH it’s stiff. I’m going to try modding it tomorrow.

So far so good though. I’ll come up with a full review in a couple of days.

Wait till you use a load-cell brake pedal. The logitech stuff will feel weak in comparison

Race cars tend to have stiffer brake pedals

I won’t always be driving race cars though.

Wear shoes. Instantly makes the pedals feel lighter.

Any idea if the brake/clutch mods carry over from the 27?

I wore my driving shoes. Actually made it harder.

You need a smaller master cylinder. Get on it.

That makes no sense. Adding weight to your foot should require less force from you.

Is the new brake potentiometer (distance) based or load cell (pressure)?

Kinja'd!!! TheHondaBro > TheTurbochargedSquirrel

I want to say load cell, but I couldn’t tell you for sure without opening it up.

Kinja'd!!! TheTurbochargedSquirrel > TheHondaBro

Just push on it. A potentiometer will be linear all the way down while the load cell will require an exponential amount of force.

Kinja'd!!! TheHondaBro > TheTurbochargedSquirrel

Kinja'd!!!0

I looked up online and apparently there are buffers in place to make it seem more “realistic.” It’s definitely potentiometer-based.

Kinja'd!!! TheTurbochargedSquirrel > TheHondaBro

Kinja'd!!!0

Ok. That’s about what I expected. It’s a common mod on the g27 to replace the brake with a load cell, move the brake spring to the clutch, and the clutch spring to the gas. Load cells are nice because they give you so much modulation but you really have to work at them.

Drive the C7.R in free play. Before you shift out of neutral and into 1st, go third person and rev the shit out of the thing. You can thank me for the resulting eargasm

i think the pedals are that way so that in 6 months you’re not complaining that they are too soft.

Random question. I understand that racing games are fun (I enjoy certain ones) but I don’t really get the whole make it realistic feel. Wouldn’t it just be more fun to drive your own car in real life? Maybe im just a fucking old fart at 22 but id rather drive even my F350 spirited than sit in front of a wheel and screen. ( I only use a controller for my Xbone)

Also it’s difficult finding a place to drive spiritedly without breaking the law.

I often find in this game that when oversteer occurs, even backing off the throttle and full counter-steering isn’t enough to recover. It’s very frustrating - if you don’t catch a slide immediately you’re definitely going off and your race is likely ruined.

I’m playing with a controller. Does the wheel solve this for you? Have you ever experienced the same?

Kinja'd!!! TheHondaBro > Nauraushaun

Same fucking shit with the wheel.

:(

I thought being able to turn more than a quarter turn, and turn as fast as you like, would fix it. It would still be the game’s fault for mapping the controller poorly, but at least there’d be a fix!

I’ll have to fiddle with sensitivity settings I think. :(
